My plan tonight was to make stuffed meatballs, but the hamburger was not thawed enough to form a meatball, so I made a goofy layered something…I can’t really put a name to it.
I put about half the meat in a baking dish sprayed with PAM. Then I added Stove Top stuffing that I quickly made in the microwave to the top of the meat, the I added the remainder of the hamburger on top of all that. I combined a can of cream of mushroom soup with about a half a can of milk and poured it over the entire thing. The plan was to cook it for an hour at 350 degrees F.
After an hour the meat was still raw, so I cranked the heat to 375 and put foil over the top. This thing cooked another 45 minutes before it was done. The house smelled wonderful and everyone was starving by the time it was ready to serve. You could call this a disaster that tasted pretty good. It fed five people with some leftovers in the fridge. Can’t win them all.
