Continous Bake Sale-Pt. 2

by NikiHampton on February 28, 2010

Time to refill the bucket. My hubby just brought home $30! Sounds like the German chocolate and confetti cake cookies were a hit!

So, now it’s on to brownies, brownies and more brownies.

So, I am cheating a bit and using brownies mixes, but, hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right?

But, a little brownie mix doesn’t mean boring ole’ brownies. Here’s what I did to make them special.

Batch One: Classic Brownies

Ok, so this batch I did leave plain, but you can’t fall a lover of classic fudgy brownies!

Batch Two: Peanut Butter Brownies

One fudgy brownie mix and some peanut butter chips thrown in the batter for good measure. Also, melted some chips down and spread them on top. Yummy!

Batch Three: Butterscotch Brownies

This was super easy I just follow the recipe on the bag of chips. Here it is:

Chewy Butterscotch Brownies (by Nestle)

2 1/1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 T. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 2/3 c. Nestle Tollhouse butterscotch morsels
1 c. nuts (I’m not actually using nuts to avoid potential allergies)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.

**I use a whisk to make sure it’s well combined. You can use a sifter or fine strainer, but keep in mind your brownies will turn out cakey.**

2. Beat butter, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy.

3. Beat in eggs.

4. Gradually beat in flour mixture.

5. Stir in 1 cup of butterscotch chips and nuts (if desired).

4. Spread into an ungreased 13X9-inch baking pan.

5. Sprinkle remaining chips on top.

Bake for 30-40 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool pan on wire rack, cut into bars…

And, Enjoy!!!

Thanks for going me on my bake sale journey…until next time…

Happy Baking!
Niki
