As the holiday season approaches I start to think back on what worked and what didn’t work on holidays past. All cooks have had a disaster or two in the kitchen, it goes with the territory.
Mine? I spent a couple of years as a vegetarian a few years ago but still loved the idea of feeding my family and my husband’s family during the holidays. I also believe in not stuffing the bird, I make dressing on the side. Cooking a turkey without stuffing inside takes no time at all. It also tends to be a dryer bird without all the moisture that would come from the stuffing.
Picture a vegetarian plopping a dried out bird on the table for guests…ugh! I give kudos to my family members who ate it didn’t tell me just how awful those couple of years were. Totally clueless.
Moral of the story, people who can’t or don’t taste their own food shouldn’t be feeding it to others.
So, do you dare tell your cooking disasters? Add your disaster below, it doesn’t have to be a holiday disaster.
